I'm a 20-something, recent college grad from the Midwest, leaving my friends and family behind to take on the publishing industry in Boston, Massachusetts. This is my first "real" job out of college and I'm starting at the bottom rung of the book-making ladder.
The purpose of this blog is three-, four-, or five-fold, perhaps more. My personal interest in writing this blog is just that: the writing. I've been a writer all my life and like the idea of starting a new writing project centered around this move. Also, it's a way for my friends and family to keep up with what's going on in my life (without actually having to talk on the phone).
Ideally, it would also be a source of comfort or camaraderie for those who have or are planning a move to Boston, those who are looking for or have just started their first job out of college, those working in the publishing industry, or those just looking for something [interesting] to read.
For those interested in the publishing and Boston thrusts of the site, I plan on including helpful links to sites, articles, etc. on these topics. For everyone else, I am sure there will be plenty irrelevant ranting and raving for your reading pleasure.
Welcome one and all, and wish me luck in Bean Town. I'll do my best to keep it entertaining.
